National Service Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme launched in 1969 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India. Its motto is “Not Me But You”, which reflects a deep commitment to community service and selfless participation, aiming to transform students into socially conscious citizens. By adhering to the philosophy of education through service, the program allows students to learn by doing, ensuring that communities benefit while participants simultaneously gain leadership, empathy, and practical skills. The main objectives of NSS are centred on personality development, community linkage, civic responsibility and skill building. Share a Meal is the signature activity of AJ College NSS Unit. Food packets are being distributed every month to needy at the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital.
